What's The Best Way To Vacuum My Home?
With over 55 years of making the world’s best vacuum cleaners, we’ve learned a thing or two about the most effective ways to a cleaner floor. Whether you have carpet, porcelain or hardwood floors - these tips will help make sure you keep your floor both looking and performing at its best.
Step One: Always Dust Surfaces Before Vacuuming
To prevent spillages and dust from falling on your newly vacuumed floor, start by dusting your surfaces. Start from the top of the surface and work your way down, so the dirt particles fall to the floor, ready for your vacuum.
Step Two: Clear The Room Before Starting.
We've all had that painful moment of stepping on a toy or accidentally vacuuming a shoelace or a coin. Prevent this from happening (and damaging your vacuum) by tidying the floor beforehand, enabling you to clean the floor swiftly and without any obstructions.
Step Three: Move In Horizontal And Vertical Patterns.
If you're not a frequent cleaner, it's worth vacuuming up and down, as well as side-to-side as dust accumulates in those hidden corners. In high traffic areas, repeat this process in slower motions for a deeper clean.
Step Four: Vacuum Your Home Regularly
We recommend setting a regular cleaning schedule. Vacuum the floor minimum once a week to prevent allergens and debris from building up in carpet fibers. If you have pets or children, you should clean even 2 or 3 times a week as the floor gets dirty much quicker.
Oreck & Vacuums - A History Of American Innovation
In 1963, David Oreck had an original yet radical idea: design a lightweight yet powerful
vacuum to relieve the drudgery felt by hotel housekeepers using the much heavier models
available to them.
Naturally, hotel staff wanted to buy these vastly improved vacuum cleaners for their own use at home. And so, David's original idea evolved: Oreck Corporation began selling its unique products to residential consumers as well. Oreck has earned its reputation for making the finest vacuums available and with new materials and technologies, Oreck continues to innovate to this day.
